Mission Viejo Auto Body Shop Hosts The Pinewood Derby Race
The Boys Scout Pack 765 brought their best engineless cars to the 2016 Pinewood Derby Race this Sunday, January 31, 2016. As a staunch supporter of Orange County’s Boys Scouts, Mission Viejo Auto Collision hosted the race at our auto body repair center.
For more than 5 years, we happily clear out our auto body shop to setup a derby race track for the event. It is our way to help promote the ingenuity of young minds that may create better energy efficient cars or other useful technology to improve our lives. Creativity begins with a spark, and we hope these events ignite a constructive idea from which our future engineers will develop.
It was an thrilling day at the races indeed. Torrential rain, and wind did not deter our racers, and fans. Luckily everyone had finished eating before the strong gust of wind blew our canopy tents away. The race still continued with the sounds of excitement from young, and old. At times it appeared like the young at heart were more enthusiastic than the boys scouts. Nonetheless, everyone enjoyed themselves and our racers didn’t leave empty handed.
Thank you to all our racers, parents and supporters for joining us to make the event a success, despite the rain. We look forward to the next race, and hopefully it’s sooner than later. Have a blessed, and prosperous 2016 everyone!
