Every year, Mission Viejo Auto Collision (MVAC) supports the community in so many ways such as hosting Pinewood Derby Races for the Boys Scouts of Orange County, holiday giving to Boys Town, etc. This year, we decided to invest our efforts into making a significant difference in 1 family’s lives to provide tools to help rebuild their lives.
Local Auto Body Shop & Partners United To Help A Disadvantaged Family This Christmas
Joined with our partners at State Farm, the National Auto Body Council, Recycled Rides, United Auto Glass, Santa Margarita Toyota, 3M, NABC, Family Promise, PPG, LKO, Allen Tire Company, Single Source, WRS, and Completes Plus, we united to contribute our products and services to provide a brighter Christmas to a young family who fell on hard times this year. As is the constant in life, we all suffer challenges, and need a helping hand to make that transition to successfully rebuild our lives.
MVAC and our partners worked cohesively, and diligently to provide a reliable car to a once homeless, single mom and her young son. Pulling our resources together, our AMAZING TEAM and PARTNERS rebuilt a used Toyota to make it drive and look as good as new.
Recycled Rides Ceremony At Mission Viejo Auto Collision
On Wednesday, December 22, 2016 at 3PM, Mission Viejo Auto Collision, along with our partners in the Recycled Rides program, friends, and families in the community gathered for the Recycled Rides Ceremony. We celebrated the joy of Christmas giving by making Nancy and Zeek Zavala’s (our Recycled Rides recipient this season) dreams come true.
Nancy is currently a divorced single mom after 8 years of marriage to a very abusive, and unsupportive ex-husband. For the well-being of both she and her 6 year old son Zeek, Nancy left the marriage, and with it, all the bills and rent. Struggling with basic necessities for living, Nancy had the full responsibility to care for young Zeek without sufficient money to pay for rent and food, and pay for a car. Unfortunately evicted from their 2 bedroom apartment, she and Zeek were homeless for more than 2 months.
Fortunately, Nancy found Family Promise, a nonprofit organization focused on helping families like hers rebuild their lives again. After gaining assistance from Family Promise a month ago, things began falling into place. There appears to be light at the end of a tunnel.
Although she enjoys working full time as an administrative assistant at a mobile home office, it remains difficult to fully provide for her son, much less buy a car. Therefore, the gift of a reliable car is invaluable transportation, as she now has more flexibility to take Zeek to school, get to work on time, pursue other opportunities to be able afford a one bedroom apartment and begin an independent life for her family. Later she can return to school to create a better life for her and little Zeek.
Life challenges us all in so many ways. Our success in life is defined by the resources provided for us to reinvent our lives. The support, and tools available determine the speed at which we recover, and whether or not we triumph in our efforts. For this reason, Mission Viejo Auto Collision and our partners were proud to give the gift of a reliable transportation as a tool to aid Nancy and Zeek in rebuilding their young lives. We hope this car expedites your transition towards an independent and successful future.
Again, thank you to our Fantastic Team, Phenomenal Partners and Community for your support in our Recycled Rides Program. May you and your love ones have a Very Merry Christmas, and a wonderful New Year to come!!
